Container Repair Shop Pavement Design - CRLRC

The 12,000-acre Columbia Ridge Landfill and Recycling Center (CRLRC) in Arlington, Oregon provides disposal services to Oregon and Washington, processing over 2 million tons of waste per year. Pavement Services has worked with Waste Management on multiple pavement-related projects over the years at the CRLRC.

Recently, PSI was tapped to design new PCC pads used for maneuvering intermodal containers at the CRLRC container repair shop. Our evaluation consisted of a visual inspection, pavement coring, shallow auger borings, Dynamic Cone Penetrometer testing, and laboratory testing. We performed a structural analysis considering traffic loading, subgrade strength, and material durability to develop recommendations for new pavement structures.
